A correct electrochemical series can be obtained from K, Na, Ca, Al, Mg, Zn, Fe, Pb, H, Cu, Hg, Ag, Au by interchanging

A. Al and Mg

B. Zn and Fe

C. Zn and Pb

D. Pb and H




From the most reactive metal to the least reactive, lets rearrange the above series:

K > Na > Ca > Mg > Al > Zn > Fe > Pb > H > Cu > Hg > Ag > Au

Magnesium is quite more reactive than aluminum, that’s where the bug is.

Now for the right answer to the above question:

  1. Option A is correct. Aluminum is not more reactive than magnesium.
  2. Option B is incorrect. zinc and iron are properly arranged.
  3. C is incorrect. zinc and lead are properly arranged.
  4. D is not the correct answer. Lead and hydrogen are properly arranged.
