Factorize ax – by – ay + bx

  • A. (a – b)(x – y)
  • B. (a + b)(y – x)
  • C. (a – b)(y – x)
  • D. (a + b)(x – y)

SOLUTION 

ax – by – ay + bx

rearranging, we have:

ax – ay + bx – by

= a(x – y) + b(x – y)

= (a + b)(x – y)

Now for the right answer to the above question:

  4. D is the correct answer.
