From the diagram above PQ||RS and <PTR = 37ᵒ. What is the value of x? » QuizTablet

From the diagram above PQ||RS and <PTR = 37ᵒ. What is the value of x?

  • A. 127ᵒ
  • B. 37ᵒ
  • C. 53ᵒ
  • D. 90ᵒ

QUICK ANSWER…

C

SOLUTION

If PQ is parallel to RS, then <PTR = <TRS = 37

But from the diagram, <RTS = 90,

If the sum of total angles in a triangle = 180, then:

37 + 90 + x = 180

x = 180 – 37 – 90 = 53 degrees

Now for the right answer to the above question:

  1. Option A is incorrect.
  2. Option B is incorrect.
  3. C is correct.
  4. D is not the correct answer.

KEY-POINTS…

You may please note these/this:

  • Sum of total angles in a triangle = 180 degrees
  • Sum of total angles in a straight line = 180 degrees
  • Opposite angles on a line joining parallel lines are equal.
